Deard Friends Far and wide Greetinsg from Mariazell, I do hope you are all well and enjoying a relatively good health on mind and body. Over here at Mariazell are all in good health, and this is due to the fact that the cold temperatures now to zero degrees centigrade keeps our bodies and brains at the right temperatures, no overheating that means no headaches and no much stress. That having been said, I just want to inform you that yesterday the 31st of May was the 1st death of Anniversary of Fr. Ernest. We did celebrate a memorial mass for him with the students here at Mariazell with the students whose singing was magnificent and heavely joined by the sisters, brothers, teachers and the mission workers. After the Holy Mass which was very solemn, we all matched to the grave yard icluding Br George irespective of the biting cold, all marched led by the student leading with choruses. We blessed the graveyard and had some prayers together. What transpired yesterday is that what happened a year ago at Mariazell, is very vivid in peoples mind, and it will taka a while to heal and make peace with it. The peoples hearts are still bleeding and very angry. In the Church I asked the people to join me in praying for healing that comes from God, this is what we need. Harbouring the hatred and anger may at the end ruin us or prompt people to do unthinkable things, we also prayed for the conversion of the perpetraters. We are now eagerly waiting for the hearing as I informed you already was set for 1st-14th Nov this year. I attach the photos I took the grave of Fr Earnest, while the man in handcuffs is one of the suspects. He has escaped from prisons and was on the way to Lesotho, thanks to the quick response of the investigating team, they arrested him before he finished packing. He is now safely kept in Kokstad with the former boarding Master Mr Matabane. All the best to all of you hoping to hear from your side. Regards Fr. Bernard |
